The Fairfax Kiwanis Club hosted their annual dinner meeting Tuesday evening, October 12, at the Fairfax United Methodist Church. Installation of new officers and board members was held, as well as induction of new members and awards. Members and their guests were adequately spaced and enjoyed the delicious meal catered by Kent and Janice Ray. Following dinner, Donovan Jones, Tarkio, delighted the group with his outstanding talents of singing and piano playing.

Danny Kemerling, president for the 2019-2020 year, was in charge of the evening’s activities. He presented 50-year pins to Bob Alldredge (1969) and Gene Carder (1970) as members of the Fairfax Kiwanis Club. Both men have served their club quite well. Tiffany Miller Haynes and Sara Sue Taylor, new Kiwanis members, were initiated into the club and presented their membership pins.

New officers for the 2020-2021 year were then installed. They are: Dr. Jeremy Burright, president; Kris Umbarger, president-elect; Jim Allen, vice-president; Marilyn Alldredge, secretary; and Bob Alldredge, treasurer. Board members installed for the coming year were Jack Kruse, Gene Carder, Jon Davis, Julie Jones, Ed Taylor, Pastor Andrew Sanders and Danny Kemerling, outgoing president. Marilyn Alldredge presented the Past President pin to Danny Kemerling. She emphasized the appreciation the Kiwanis Club has had for Danny’s leadership this past year.

New brochures of the Fairfax Club’s activities, members’ information and program assignments were distributed by Marilyn. Programs are always being sought so if someone has a program they would like to present, they can get in touch with one of the members.

The Fairfax Kiwanis Club meets every Tuesday at noon, now at the Fairfax Methodist Church with adequate spacing and safety. Meals are prepared by Daybreak Café  and taken to the church by Bob Alldredge.
