Easter season services in Atchison County will include the following:

PALM SUNDAY

MARCH 28

• Watson United Methodist Church, Palm Sunday Worship service, 9:00 a.m.

• First Christian Church, Rock Port, 10:30 a.m.

• First Lutheran Church, 10:30 a.m.

• Rock Port United Methodist Church, Palm Sunday Worship service, 10:45 a.m. Procession with children, Jesus and a donkey.

• Community Palm Sunday parade in Rock Port, 2:00 p.m. Participants will meet at the First Lutheran Church. This is to commemorate Jesus’ entry parade on an unridden donkey into Jerusalem. Cars will parade up and down Main Street waving palms and shouting “Hosannah!”

• Tarkio First Baptist Church, 6:00 p.m.

HOLY WEDNESDAY

MARCH 31

• Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City: Holy Wednesday Vespers, 7:00 p.m.

MAUNDY THURSDAY

APRIL 1

• First Christian Church, 5:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This short service will be meaningful and scriptural and will include communion for all present. A light meal will be served.

• United Methodist Church (Rock Port and Watson): Remembrance of the Last Supper online on Facebook.  6:00 p.m.

• First Lutheran Church, 7:00 p.m. with Holy Communion.

• Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City: Maundy Thursday Divine Service, 7:00 p.m.

GOOD FRIDAY

APRIL 2

• Fairfax Community Service – 12:00 p.m. at the Fairfax Baptist Church. Hosted by the Fairfax Ministerial Alliance.

• Tarkio Service – 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Tarkio Christian Church. The message will be given by Dave Wynn. A sack lunch will be provided following the service.

• Rock Port Community Service – 12:00 noon, online on Facebook, Rock Port United Methodist church page

• Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City: Tenebrae, 7:00 p.m.

HOLY SATURDAY

APRIL 3

• Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City: Easter Vigil (Holy Saturday), 5:30 p.m.

EASTER SUNDAY

APRIL 4

• Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City: Easter Sunrise Divine Service, 7:15 a.m.; Easter Breakfast, 9:00 a.m.; Easter Chief Divine Service, 10:30 a.m.

• Resurrection Sunrise Service, 7:30 a.m. at the Fairfax Community Park, hosted by the Fairfax Ministerial Alliance. (In the event of inclement weather or temperatures below 45°, the service will be held at the Fairfax Methodist Church.)

• First Christian Church, Rock Port: Songspiration service and communion at 8:30 a.m., followed by a light breakfast. The regular Easter service will begin at 10:30 a.m.

• Watson United Methodist Church: Easter Worship service, 9:00 a.m.

• Tarkio First Baptist Church: There will be a 9:00 a.m. service with baptism followed by an Easter breakfast served in the fellowship hall. A children’s Easter egg hunt will follow breakfast with Sunday school for adults and children.

• First Lutheran Church, Rock Port: 10:30 a.m. with Holy Communion.

• Rock Port United Methodist Church: Easter Worship service, 10:45 a.m.
