The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, March 11, 2021. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were reviewed and approved.
Letters of resignation from Mary Ellen Oswald and Bob Fischer, effective immediately, from the Senior Citizens Tax Board were read. The board had accepted the letters at the March 9 meeting. The commissioners voted to accept the resignations and commended both Mrs. Oswald and Mr. Fischer for their dedication and service
The board submitted the name of Stephanie Smith to serve the unexpired term of Mary Ellen Oswald to fill the Fairfax vacancy. The request was approved.
Michael Clancy and Don Brown with Renodry USA met with the commission requesting the opportunity to provide a free inspection of the courthouse and sheriff’s office to see if the buildings were experiencing any moisture damage. Maintenance Supervisor Greg Beck was with them during the inspection. They will prepare a report and forward it to the commission for review.
The commission was then adjourned.
