There were three new cases of COVID-19 in Atchison County reported to the health department from March 29, 2021, through April 5, 2021:
2 males – ages 40-49
1 male – age 50-59
As of April 5, 2021, there have been 442 total cases and 13 deaths in Atchison County. Four cases are active. There are zero current active COVID-19 hospitalizations in our local hospital. The current seven-day testing positivity rate is 9.5%.

COVID VACCINE UPDATES
As of April 5, 2021, Atchison County is ranked third in the state with 32% of residents receiving at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose. This includes vaccine given by the health department, our local hospital, pharmacies and nursing homes, as well as mass vaccination events. Moving to the Next Vaccination Phase
Phase 3 of the vaccination plan includes all Missourians and begins on Friday, April 9, 2021. The priority phases can be found at: https://covidvaccine.mo.gov/priority/.
Vaccines Available
A mass vaccination clinic will be held on April 12 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Tarkio Activity Center. The vaccine will be Moderna and a person will need to return May 10 for a second dose.
