It’s hard to believe we’re already on the back half of fourth quarter! We’ve been fortunate this semester in terms of being able to host and attend our normal events. The final month of the year is loaded with school functions and student activities. Our students have been stacking up the accolades and are looking forward to continued success down the final stretch.
Among the many great accomplishments our students have achieved – the FFA entomology and trap teams both qualified for state, two FCCLA members were sworn into regional officer positions, scholar bowl finished the season undefeated and has qualified for sectionals, and the NHS chapter has been able to volunteer in several community events.
The next few weeks will keep Rock Port students very busy! 2021 Prom is this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Building. The scholar bowl team will head to North Platte on April 27, at 5:00 p.m. for the right to go to State. The school play will be May 5, in the north gym at 7:00 pm. Commencement will be held on May 16, in the south gym at 1:30 p.m. There will be no attendance limitations on graduation, but all guests will be asked to enter with a face covering. The school play and graduation will both be streamed live on the RPHS YouTube channel.
As we wrap up this semester and look ahead at the 2021-22 school year, we have a few extra duty coaching positions that are still open. Among the spots we have are high school baseball, high school football, high school track, junior high wrestling, and junior high track. If you have any interest or questions about any of these positions, please contact me.
Go Big Blue!
