The crowd enjoyed songs by Terri Jackson, Lynn Hunter, Deb Johnson and Debra Wyatt.

Agent Kyle Dick was the main speaker.

Vicki Cook prayed for the families.

Paul Tiemeyer introduced all of the speakers and welcomed everyone.

On Thursday, May 6, 2021, the First Christian Church of Rock Port hosted the Ministerial Alliance National Day of Prayer at the Atchison County Memorial Building.

Paul Tiemeyer welcomed everyone to the event held over the lunch hour. Janice Phelps led with a prayer for our nation which was followed by the presentation of colors by the Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49. Mayor Amy Thomas read a proclamation for the City of Rock Port. Terri Jackson, Lynn Hunter, Deb Johnson and Deb Wyatt entertained the crowd with a patriotic song. Conservation Agent Kyle Dick was the main speaker as he gave a good message and history lesson of the National Day of Prayer.

During the National Day of Prayer there are the Freedom Five prayers: Education read by Chris Gebhards, Churches read by Rita Vance, Families read by Vicki Cook, Government read by Shannon Sherwood, and the Media read by Lori Seymour. Following the prayers everyone joined in with the ladies to sing “God Bless America.” The colors were retired and Don Meyer ended with the benediction and Lord’s Prayer.
