The Tarkio Elementary summer school participants took a field trip to the Remington Nature Center in St. Joseph, Missouri, last week. The students learned more about wildlife and the history of Missouri. Pictured above, from left to right, are Michael, Jade, Jasper, teacher Mrs. Parra, Owen, and Tavyn. “With the variety of displays and information available, the center appeals to people of all ages and interests. Several interactive components allow people to use their senses to learn about and appreciate the natural environment, as well as the events that impacted nature in and around Northwest Missouri.” Students were also allowed to handle tortoises.
