Sydnee Bruns is an East Atchison golfer who is working on her golf game this summer by participating in area tournaments.

Josie King, Kelsea Kirwan, Sydnee Bruns, and Alex Barnett are staying busy golfing this summer. All Tarkio High School students, the girls golf for East Atchison Girls’ Golf Team. The girls have been participating in the Northwest Missouri Junior Tournament Series hosted by Mike Habermehl, PGA head professional at the  Country Club Golf Course in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The first tournament was at Shiloh Springs Golf Course in Platte City, Missouri. Kelsea shot a 105 and took first place in the 16-18 age division. Alex Barnett took first with 105 in the 14-15 age division.

The next tournament was at Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville, Missouri. Kelsea and Josie played the Seacrest 18 and took first (108) and second (110) respectively in the 16-18 age division. Alex played the front 9 of Seacrest and then the Watson 9 and placed second with a score of 90 in the 14-15 division.

On June 28, the girls traveled to Green Hills Golf Course in Chillicothe, Missouri. Alex placed first in the 14-15 division with a 99 and Sydnee Bruns placed third with a 108. Kelsea placed second in the 16-18 division with a 99.

The girls are playing challenging courses with good competition to prepare for the upcoming season this fall.
