The “Hallelujah Chorus” should have been played as the Pitch Club met at Pam Cooper’s house July 13. There were no masks to muffle the hoots and hollers from the winners and losers for we all had been “shot.” It had been so long since we had met that someone yelled, “How many cards do you deal?” Vicki Smith and Kay Rosenbohm substituted for us. Merylan Lowrey won high score. Martha Shaffer had low.

At our round table meeting after the games, Pam served butter pecan bundt cake. It is an unusual cake because you put the icing packet in the batter before you bake the cake.

There was a lot of catching up to do. Laughs started when someone mentioned strange names for babies these days. We all left with smiles on our faces looking forward to the next meeting.
