Judy A. Woody, the daughter of Lewis Russell and Gladys Evelyn (Wilson) Stevens, was born August 19, 1946, in Tarkio, Missouri. When Judy was a little girl, her parents divorced. In 1955, Evelyn was united in marriage to Rollie Cook and Judy considered him “Dad.” Judy attended Maryville High School, Maryville, Missouri, graduating in 1964.

In the late 1960s, Judy was united in marriage to Kenneth Lee, Sr. and became the parents of two children, Staci and Kenneth, Jr. They later divorced.

On December 23, 1980, Judy was united in marriage to Richard Woody. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Pendleton, Oregon, where Judy attended Blue Mountain Community College and received a Licensed Practical Nursing certificate. She worked several years as a nurse and in 1995 Judy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Blue Mountain. In 2015, they returned to Tarkio where they recently celebrated 40 years together.

Judy was formerly employed as a nurse by Union Pacific Railroad. She loved being a nurse and caring for those in need.

Judy was a member of Assembly of God Church, Tarkio and actively supported the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Arbor Day Foundation. She enjoyed growing flowers and loving her three puppies, Maggie, Annie, and Sassy. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family. Judy passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 74.

Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by daughter, Staci Lee; step-father, James Rollie Cook; and step-brother, James William Cook. Survivors include husband, Richard Woody, Tarkio; son, Kenneth, Jr. (Dia) Lee, Taneyville, Missouri; grandchildren, Lacie (Jerril) Jones and Justin (Emma) Nenneman; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Rosalee, and Sierra Jones, Hayden and Aria Nenneman; siblings, Rose (Roy) Munsey, Rock Port, Missouri, Linda (Danny) Pankau, Jameson, Missouri, Sheila Wilson, Springfield, Missouri; step-sister, Dorothy Benson, St. Joseph, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A funeral service was held Friday, July 30, 2021, at the Assembly of God Church in Tarkio. Rev. Glenn Scott officiated. Memorials may be directed to the Judy Woody Memorial Fund.
