The committee for Missouri’s Great Northwest Winefest is excited to announce that the Winefest will be back this year after having to cancel last year’s event due to Covid-19. The Winefest is hosted by and a fundraiser for Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF).

The 12th Annual Missouri’s Great Northwest Winefest event will be held in Mound City’s North Griffith Park, September 18, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests can sip, stroll and shop from a variety of booths featuring artisans, makers, and other vendors while enjoying wine tastings, great food, and live music.

Many of the wineries participating in this year’s Winefest have been deemed winners in Missouri’s Governor Award Winning Wines. NWMEF is pleased that there will be more offerings of new wines at this beautiful fall setting, in the north end of Mound City next to Mound City Development Corporation’s lavish vineyards. Each winery has their own unique taste and grape varieties, specialty named wines, some are even made with Mound City’s grapes.

The cost of admission is a flat fee of $25 and includes unlimited wine tastings and a souvenir wine tasting glass for those over 21. Admission for children ages 5-10 is $5 and children under 5 are free. Sorry, but no pets are allowed. To avoid waiting in line, tickets may be purchased in advance online by going to NWMEF.org/winefest.

Vendor booths feature items such as handcrafted jewelry, home decorative items, fall flowers, pumpkins, health products, purses and bags, photography, handmade and baked items, jams, jellies, candles, cosmetics, woodworking items, and t-shirts.
