The following cases were heard in Atchison County Circuit Court Tuesday, August 3, 2021, before the Honorable Roger M. Prokes at the Atchison County Courthouse in Rock Port, Missouri:

State vs. Becky L. Goacher – Probation Violation Hearing on Felony Possession Of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams Or Less Of Marijuana. Case called. The state appears by PA Hurst, the defendant appears with Attorney Euler. Hearing held and the court finds the defendant in violation of her probation and after considering the alternatives the court hereby orders the previously imposed sentence executed. Defendant’s pro-bation revoked and sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections.

State vs. Amy Brynn Hamilton – Sentencing Hearing on Felony DWI – Chronic. Case called. The state appears by PA Hurst, the defendant appears and with Attorney Euler. Leave granted to withdraw plea of guilty. Jury trial set. Jury selection at 1:30 p.m. November 9, 2021, and trial to start November 10, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.

State vs. Steven Joseph Knight – Arraignment on Felony Tampering With Motor Vehicle – 1st Degree, Property Damage 1st Degree, Leaving Scene Of Accident – Property Damage Exceeding $1,000, and Stealing. Case called. The state appears by PA Hurst, the defendant appears and with Attorney Euler, waives arraignment and enters a plea of not guilty. Case continued to October 5, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., which is the last day for accepting a binding plea.

State vs. Thomas Eugene McCrerey – Probation Conditions Review Hearing on Felony Assault – 2nd Degree and DWI. Case called and the court reviews terms of probation.

State vs. Angela A. Orozco – Arraignment on Felony Possession Of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams Or Less Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, Unlawful Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia – Prior Drug Offense, Failure To Register Motor Vehicle, Displayed/Possessed Motor Vehicle/Trailer Plates Of Another Person, Operated Vehicle On Highway Without A Valid License – 1st Offense, and Operated Motor Vehicle Owned By Another Knowing Owner Of Vehicle Has Not Maintained Financial Responsibility. Case called. The state appears by PA Hurst, the defendant fails to appear. Attorney Euler appears and case continued to August 31, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.

State vs. Andrew J. Paez – Sentencing Hearing on Felony Possession Of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams Or Less Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Case called. The state appears by PA Hurst, the defendant appears with Attorney Johnson and has entered a plea of guilty to a felony of Possession Of Controlled Substance. The court suspends imposition of sentence and defendant placed on 5 years supervised probation with the State Probation & Parole and abide by all their conditions. No contact with the victim. Costs are waived. Judgment with Order of Probation attached filed.

State vs. Tonya A. Zismer – Probation Violation Hearing on Felony Possession Of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams Or Less Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid. Case called. The state appears by PA Hurst, the defendant appears without an attorney. Case continued to August 31, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. with defendant to have an attorney.

State vs. Scott E. Brion – Probation Violation Hearing on Felony Non-Support, Total Arrears In Excess Of 12 Monthly Payments Due Under Order Of Support. Case called and continued to October 5, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.

State vs. Justin M. Scott – Probation Violation Hearing on Felony Non-Support, Total Arrears In Excess Of 12 Monthly Payments Due Under Order Of Support. Case called. The state appears by APA Klima, the defendant appears without an attorney and case set for hearing on August 31, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.
