The Rock Port Senior Center is still open for lunch. Carmen Ellison, manager, said, “We appreciate those who have made it back to our Center for lunch.”
People are understandably wary because of the rising number of COVID cases in the community, but workers at the Center are taking precautions. Unvaccinated guests are asked to wear a mask until they are seated and having lunch. Hand sanitizer is provided at every opportunity to minimize any transfer.
“It is a challenge to regain our numbers so we need folks to come in and support the Center,” Carmen said. “The number of people we serve determines the amount of monetary support we receive from the government.”
Home delivered meals are done with minimum contact. This is a service the community must keep in place.
“We are looking forward to Old Fashioned Saturday Night as it has always been a solid fundraiser for the Center. Please keep us in mind to share your baking skills with your baked good contribution for the fundraiser,” Carmen said. “We are well-known for most of our homemade baked goods on Old Fashioned Saturday Night and we look forward to seeing everyone again!”
