EA’s Daniel Lesher earned a medal with his 10th place finish and personal record time of 19:07.24 at the Mound City Invitational Cross Country Meet.

EA’s Alexis Bywater had a personal best time of 26:41.54 at the Mound City Invitational Cross Country Meet.

The East Atchison and Rock Port high school cross country teams traveled to Mound City, Missouri, to compete October 5, 2021. Results from the invitational follow:

GIRLS – 6th, Aubrey Watkins (RP), 22:09.60; 18th, Brooklyn Wennihan (EA), 25:35.94; and 21st, Alexis Bywater (EA), 26:41.54

BOYS – 10th, Daniel Lesher (EA), 19:07.24; 14th, Cole Anderson (EA), 19:42.59; 33rd, Ian Stepp (EA), 21:48.95; and 38th, Cowen O’Riley (EA), 23:23.10

For their last two regular season meets, the East Atchison team travels to Mt. Ayr, Iowa, October 14 and to Maryville, Missouri, October 26.

The Rock Port runners will compete in the St. Joseph Christian Invitational October 23 and the Nodaway Valley Invitational in Maryville October 26.

The District Cross Country Meet is Saturday, October 30, at Missouri Western State University, 1298 South 50th Street, St. Joseph, Missouri. Qualifiers will advance to the state meet November 6 in Columbia, Missouri.
