The Pitch Club met Tuesday, October 12, at the home of Susan Braams. It was an unusual meeting because we could not find enough players for our usual pitch game. However, not to be denied an afternoon of fun, Susan taught us to play golf, a fun card game for an uneven number of players. There were as many laughs as usual as Susan tried to keep the game honest. Merylan Lowrey had the low score, which in the game of golf is the winning score. Pam Cooper won second high and I managed third place. I missed having a partner to share the blame.

Susan served a delicious brownie recipe that was totally healthy, she said, and then she passed around the big carton of ice cream which did not claim any health benefits unless you passed by it. The coffee brought on a discussion of flavored coffees and teas available. I had no idea there were so many choices. Strong is the only flavor I like. Someone mentioned a chance of frost coming soon and that quieted the gossip after a great afternon of fellowship.
