Candy Cane Lane is the theme of Oregon’s 32nd annual Christmas Around the Square celebration. The day will begin at 9:00 a.m. with vendors in the TJ Hall Building and the Adelpha cookie walk in the Holt County Museum & Research Center.

The Oregon Public Library will be open at 10:00 a.m. with hot chocolate and cookies and the Holt County Museum and Research Center will open for visitors. The South Holt Carolers will make an appearance at the T.J. Hall Building and around the square at 10:30 a.m. A lunch of chili or potato soup, sandwich, relishes, and cookies will be available beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Free pop and pizza, co-sponsored by The Goat and the Chamberlain family, will be served after school at The Goat to school children.

Beginning at 3:30 p.m. children can enjoy craft making at Sheila’s Studio. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive on a fire truck. They will be available at Sheila’s Studio for pictures at 4:00 p.m.

Visitors can take a free surrey ride around the square beginning at 4:30 p.m. The surrey rides are sponsored by Oregon Farmers Mutual. ACE will be providing a pulled pork meal from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

To complete the evening, the Oregon Christian Church will host Carols and Candles at 6:30 p.m.
