The Fairfax junior high/high school band visited Pleasant View Nursing Home and played several Christmas songs for the residents.

Pleasant View residents enjoyed the Christmas music performed by the Fairfax junior high/high school band.

Pleasant View has been busy up on the hilltop. As December quickly approached we spent a few days decking the halls. The residents enjoyed helping us place the ornaments and watch everything go up.

The staff had a door decorating contest and the doors all turned out spectacular. The residents voted on first, second and third places for the decorating. Of course we’ve enjoyed a few games of bingo (the residents’ favorite) this month. We also got to enjoy the Fairfax 7-12 band coming up and playing Christmas songs. This is something that has been done every year for a long time and after missing it last year the residents were over the moon that they got to come back in. Joanie Robison said, “I could cry, that was great.” Zella Davis stated, “Do they have to leave? I could listen to them all day.”

Fairfax third and sixth grade students drew pictures and the Fairfax God Squad group sent letters to the residents. We enjoyed writing back to them and look forward to being penpals with them!

We enjoyed cake and visiting to celebrate our December birthdays. Joanie Robison’s birthday was December 13, Frances Scott’s is the 15th and Pauline Moore celebrates her birthday on the 20th. The residents enjoyed white, German chocolate and coconut cake.
