
The high school band earned a I rating at contest on March 31, 2022, in Maryville, Missouri.

The junior high band earned a II rating at contest.
The Tarkio Junior High and High School Bands brought home good memories and solid ratings at the Missouri Small School Bands Festival at Maryville High School in Maryville, Missouri, Thursday, March 31, 2022. The junior high band received a II “outstanding” rating. The high school band earned a I “exemplary” rating. The band members will be running the concession stand at track meets on April 7, 22, and 26. Proceeds from the sales will be used to purchase a new sousaphone, new marching snare drums, and new flags for marching band. The band is also looking to repair instruments and get more instruments for beginners. Stop by for something to eat those days and help the band achieve their goals.
On Saturday, April 2, 2022, the individual musicians competed in the District Solo and Small Ensemble Festival held at Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. The solo and small group festival has changed from the traditional Roman numeral rating system to vocabulary ratings with the top three being exemplary, outstanding, and satisfactory.
Tarkio’s results include: Aaron Schlueter, trumpet solo – outstanding; Faith Anderson, trumpet solo – outstanding; Jozee Eaton, trumpet solo – outstanding; Gabe Harms, trombone solo – outstanding; Girls’ Vocal Sextet (Faith Anderson, Claire Martin, Alex Barnett, Drew Sanders, and Addison Noland) – outstanding; Brooklyn Wennihan, clarinet solo – outstanding; Addison Noland, clarinet solo – outstanding; River Dow, mallet solo – satisfactory; Alyson Wooten, flute solo – outstanding; Trumpet Trio (Sydnee Bruns, Alex Barnett, and Lizzie Schlueter) – outstanding; Girls’ Vocal Ensemble (Sydnee Bruns, Faith Anderson, Claire Martin, Haylee Clark, Alaina Armstrong, and Alyson Wooten) – outstanding; Drew Sanders, vocal solo – satisfactory; Faith Anderson, vocal solo – outstanding; and Addison Noland, vocal solo – outstanding.
