The Atchison County Commission met on Thursday, March 24, 2022, this being the 24th day of the regular January term. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Rhonda Wiley, E-911/Emergency Management Director, was in to discuss lifting the burn ban with the commission. They were all in agreement that with the rains over the past week it could be lifted, but if there was a red flag warning, a notice would be issued for no burning. The commissioners voted unanimously to lift the burn ban. Director Riley will notify the fire departments.
The commission reviewed a request for Sunday liquor by the drink from the Gee Spot in Tarkio. The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the application.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Kamron Woodring was in to request moving to four 10-hour days next week for the road and bridge department due to the need to get graders on the roads as soon as possible so they can stay ahead of CART rock delivery. The commission approved the request.
There being no further business, the commission adjourned.
