
The East Atchison 4×400 meter relay team ended the day with a big win. They finished four seconds faster than their time at district. Team members are Grace Oswald, Lizzie Schlueter, Tommi Martin, and Sophia Martin.

The East Atchison 4×800 meter relay team started with a big win, finishing in a time of 10.21.14, 16 seconds faster than last week. Team members are Grace Oswald, Sophia Martin, Claire Martin and Tommi Martin.

Tommi Martin will be heading to Jefferson City next weekend in four events. She is pictured above in the javelin throw where she placed second. Tommi also placed second in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:26.76 and is on both relay teams.

Lizzie Schlueter placed third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 48.99. This was a three second improvement over last week.

Kaylin Merriweather cleared 1.83 meters or 6’ in the high jump to clinch third place and advance to state track.

Cole Anderson qualified for state in the 3200 meter run with a third place finish in a time of 11:06.90.

Grace Oswald cleared 8’ in the pole vault, placing fourth, and is also going to state in two relays.

Jarrett Spinnato clocks a 23.50 second 200 meter dash to place fourth and advance to state this week.

Rylee Jenkins sealed her chances of going to state as she threw the discus 40.48 meters, just short of her school record and placing first.

Aubrey Watkins qualified for state in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:41.72. She is also on the 4×800 meter relay team.

Rock Port 4×800 meter relay improved by almost 20 seconds from the previous week with a time of 10:38.67. Team members are Avery Meyerkorth, Rylee Jenkins, Macie Hale and Aubrey Watkins.

Avery Meyerkorth had a busy day as she qualified in the 400 meter placing fourth with a time of 1:02.70, third in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:37.90 and the 4×800 meter relay.

Phillip Herron comes on strong in the 300 meter hurdles to place fourth and advance to state.

Colten Stevens placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 38.54 meters or 126’ 5” feet. Colten did this on his third attempt.
Members of the East Atchison and Rock Port track teams traveled to Weston, Missouri, to compete in the Class 1, Sectional 3 Track Meet Saturday, May 14, 2022, at West Platte High School.
The top four finishes in each event move on to the state track meet Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, in Jefferson City.
