Connections Counseling and Wellness invites all to join their exciting, new, FREE programs being offered at their offices located at 402 Main Street (formerly the Atchison County Historical Society Museum) in Tarkio now through May 31, 2023. Connections Counseling and Wellness is offering programs on Celebrate Recovery, Grief Support Group, Anxiety and Depression, Anger Management, Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting-By World, and Parenting With Love and Logic. Owned by Trevor Whipple and run by Mandy Whipple, CCW’s programs offer a variety of excellent information and support for people of all ages who are from Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step substance abuse program for anyone suffering from hurt, hangups, and habits. This court-approved program will be held on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and a daycare/youth program will be available during the meetings of this particular program.
The Grief Support Group will offer emotional support and education to those suffering from a loss. The group will meet every other Thursday.
A support group for Anxiety and Depression will meet every other Thursday. This very casual program will focus on overall wellbeing, coping mechanisms, and will promote some individual reflection time.
An Anger Management program will begin May 22. This eight-session program will take place once every quarter. Identify stressors and learn how to respond to them appropriately. Anyone interested in this court-approved program must call or email to get signed up (660-623-6055, office@ccw-mo.com).
Getting Ahead in a Just-Getting-By World is a course on poverty and understanding how you got there and ways to grow and escape its clutches. It will also focus and explore interactions with others and working together to make positive changes in the community. This course will take place some time in July.
Parenting with Love and Logic will be a six-week course held once a week spread over a 13-month period. It will focus on healthy relationships, how to have more fun and rewarding experiences with your children, and making your home a more cohesive environment.
