St. John Lutheran’s Church held its Vacation Bible School last week at the church outside of Westboro, Missouri. This year’s theme was “Food Truck Party, On A Roll With God!” The main course was “Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11. There were daily specials: Monday – “God is Great!”, Tuesday – “God is Good!”, Wednesday – “Let Us Thank God for Our Food!”, Thursday – “By God’s Hands We All Are Fed!”, and Friday – “Give Us, Lord, Our Daily Bread!” The children enjoyed learning about God with the young chefs in music, recreation, crafts and science. There was an average of 35 kids and 24 helpers daily. A total of 218 cans was collected and $250 raised for the local food pantries in Tarkio, Missouri, and Hamburg, Iowa.
