Missouri Freedom Quilters presented Quilts of Valor to four veterans Friday, July 15. Receiving quilts, from left to right, were: Jack Wiley, Air Force; Gary Davison, Air Force, E4, Sergeant; Teresa Surrell, Air Force, E4; and Billy Thomas, Navy. Missouri Freedom Quilters is a chapter of Quilts of Valor and they make Quilts of Valor for veterans in Atchison County. These quilts are registered to Quilts of Valor with the recipient’s name. The Missouri Freedom Quilters have made and presented 96 quilts to local veterans. They operate solely on donations to their project. They have been able to do this through the generous donations of businesses and individuals in and around our community.
