The East Atchison Wolves traveled to Oregon, Missouri, Friday, September 9, 2022, to play varsity football with the South Holt Knights. It was the closest scoring contest the Wolves have had so far this season, but ultimately the Wolves came out ahead 46-20.

After a touchdown by the Knights, Jarrett Spinnato answered with a 58 yard run of his own to add six for the Wolves. With a successful two-point conversion, the game was tied 8-8 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the only score came from the Knights, who led at the end with 14-8.

In the third quarter, Blake Simmons took it into the endzone for six and the two-point conversion put the Wolves up 16-14. Braden Graves then intercepted a Knights’ ball and ran it 15 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion failed putting the Wolves’ up 22-14. However, the Knights ended the third quarter with another touchdown, putting the score at 22-20, Wolves.

Although the score had been a slow, back-and-forth affair, in the fourth quarter the Wolves took control, scoring three touchdowns with three successful two-point conversions, ending the game with the win.

This week, the Wolves will host DeKalb for the East Atchison Fall Homecoming football game. The contest will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Fairfax. The kings and queens (from both Fairfax and Tarkio schools) will be crowned after the game. Come out and cheer the Wolves on to victory!
