The Rock Port faithful traveled to Ludlow, Missouri, on Friday night to watch the Blue Jays take on the Wildcats.

As both teams started warming up and you started comparing size of their quarterback (210 pounds) and running back (235 pounds), then you looked at the offensive and defensive line with players ranging from 210 up to 300 pounds plus, you might have wondered how the Blue Jays were going to handle them.

From the opening kick-off the Jays were able to move the ball down the field. Running backs Phillip Herron and Micah Makings both had big runs of 30 plus yards to set up the first score of the evening by Micah Makings.

Turnovers played a big role for Rock Port as Cade Makings had two interceptions – one in the end zone saving a touchdown and the other as they were driving to the red zone.

Phillip Herron came up big as the Wildcats had a bad pitch on the opening drive, which he recovered. This set the Jays up for their second score of the night by Aidan Burke.

The Jays would go on to win 58 to 22 with Aidan Burke having scored four, Micah Makings scoring two, and Phillip Herron and Corbyn Jakub adding one each.

The Jays will be home on Friday night to host South Holt for senior night.
