Rock Port’s Caleb Lucas medaled with a 3rd place finish of 18:34.71, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Rock Port’s Gus Heintz medaled with a 10th place finish of 19:41.57, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

The Missouri State High School Athletic Association (MSHSAA) Class 1 District 4 Cross Country race was held in Platte City Saturday, October 29, 2022. The East Atchison and Rock Port teams competed and had an extremely successful day!

The EA Wolves team finished 2nd overall (Mound City, Tarkio, St. Paul Lutheran – Concordia, Polo, Maysville, and North Nodaway), qualifying the team as a whole for the 48th MSHSAA Cross Country State Championship. Five of the seven runners also medaled individually (the top 30 out of 75 runners medaled), earning All-District honors and qualifiying for State. They are Cole Anderson, Daniel Lesher, Ian Stepp, Clayton Vernon, and Cowen O’Riley.

The EA Lady Wolves team finished 3rd overall (South Nodaway, Braymer, Tarkio, North Andrew, St. Paul Lutheran – Concordia, and South Holt), qualifying the team as a whole for the 48th MSHSAA Cross Country State Championship. Four of the six runners also medaled individually (the top 30 out of 55 runners medaled), earning All-District honors and qualifiying for State.

This is the first time East Atchison has had a cross country team qualify for State. This is also the third time this fall that East Atchison has had a team qualify for State (golf, volleyball, and cross country).

Rock Port’s Caleb Lucas and Gus Heintz also medaled individually, earning All-District honors and qualifying for State.

The 48th Missouri State High School Athletic Association Cross Country Championship will be held Saturday, November 5, at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri. The girls’ race begins at 1:30 p.m. and the boys run at 2:15 p.m. Good luck to all East Atchison and Rock Port runners!

Jayla Irvine medaled with a 6th place finish of 22:44.94, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Brooklyn Wennihan medaled with an 11th place finish of 24:15.72, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Kierra McDonald medaled with a 26th place finish of 25:57.21, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Alexis Bywater medaled with a 28th place finish of 26:12.72, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Kendal Straub finished 38th with a time of 28:13.78.

 

Emmy Laur finished 53rd with a time of 34:04.19.

 

Cole Anderson medaled with a 5th place finish of 19:08.19, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Daniel Lesher medaled with an 11th place finish of 19:48.22, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Ian Stepp medaled with an 18th place finish of 20:12.55, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Clayton Vernon medaled with a 25th place finish of 20:36.08, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Cowen O’Riley medaled with a 28th place finish of 20:38.86, earned All-District honors and qualified for State.

 

Dakota Evans placed 40th with a time of 21:55.62.

 

Quin Staten finished 41st with  a time of 22:05.89.

 

Jarrad Jamison finished 50th with  a time of 22:38.77.
