The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) board met November 9, 2022. Board members present were: Lori Seymour, Roger Martin, W.C. Farmer, Bob Alldredge, MaryAnn Hull, Eryn Stepp, and Jill Davis. Monica Bailey and Carol Clark were also present.

The September minutes were approved.

The September and October financials were approved as presented.

Director’s Report

Bailey attended the Creating Entrepreneurial Communities conference in September, MEDC conference in October, and Roundtable and Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation meetings in October.

Careers on Wheels was September 29, with 11 businesses and 55 freshmen participating.

ACDC’s annual meeting was held October 12, with 80 attendees and excellent speakers.

The Atchison County Artisans Makers Market was November 5, with 80-100 shoppers and 17 vendors. ACDC supported this endeavor through advertising and event space rental with #ShopAC funds.

The 2022 BI Grant program supported 12 projects for a total of $18,828.66.

After an email vote on October 13, ACDC opened a new CD at Farmers State Bank ($50,000, 14-month, 2.87%).

Heather Pemberton CPA last conducted a financial overview of ACDC policies and practices in 2019. Though she has done several spot checks since (some in conjunction with tax filings), another formal financial overview will be conducted in the summer of 2022.

New Business

The board reviewed proposed budget amendments. All approved to amend the 2022 budget as presented.

The board discussed possibly restructuring the nonprofit support process.

Bailey presented a draft of the 2023 budget for review.

Executive Session

Board members voted to move into executive session. They then all approved to return to regular session.

The meeting was then adjourned.
