Missouri Farm Bureau members returned totheir traditional annual meeting December 5-7 at the Lake of the Ozarks. The organization’s meeting theme, Rooted in Service, highlighted not only service to MOB members, but the community services those members voluntarily give. Farm Bureau leaders’ main responsibility at the meeting was to develop and approve Farm Bureau legislative policies for 2023.

During the convention, Farm Bureau counties were recognized for their advocacy and service to members. County delegates also re-elected St. Clair farmer Garrett Hawkins as president and re-elected boardmembers fromthe 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and South-at-Large districts.

Members from the Atchison County Farm Bureau joined more than 1,300 other members from throughout the state, many of them delegates voting on policy. Those attending from Atchison County were Blake and Julie Hurst, Matthew and Ann Schlueter, and Charlie Smith.

The county was recognized for its membership activities during a Gold Star Awards program. Atchison County Farm Bureau leader Matthew Schlueter received a plaque from MOFB Board member Jason Kurtz.
