Rock Port musicians participate in Junior High Solo Music Contest

Rock Port Junior High music students had a great day at the NWMSU Junior High Solo Festival February 18, 2023, in Maryville, Missouri.

Fairfax students earn superior ratings at Junior High Solo Music Contest

Three Fairfax Junior High music students had a successful day at the Junior High Solo Music Contest in Maryville, Missouri. All three students received I (superior) ratings. They are Caroline Larson (piano), Chloe Vernon (alto saxophone), and Mason Kingery (trombone). Three Fairfax music students participated in the Junior High Solo Music Contest held at NWMSU in Maryville, Missouri, on Saturday, February 18, 2023. The students were accompanied on the piano by Suzanne Southard.
Mason Kingery played “Fandango” by Forest L. Buchtel on his trombone and received a I (superior) rating. Chloe Vernon played “Contempora Suite,” movements 1 and 2, by Gordon Young on her alto saxophone and received a I+ (superior) rating. Caroline Larson played “Hear Those Lovely Bells,” arranged by Shaum, on the piano and received a I (superior) rating.
