The Rock Port High School Scholar Bowl Team won its sixth consecutive 275 Conference Championship (excluding 2020 when the season went unfinished). Rock Port High School finished regular season Scholar Bowl with a make-up day at Mound City March 20 and home matches March 21.

In Mound City, the Jays went 3-0, defeating Union Star 290-180, Jefferson 230-100, and Mound City 280-230. Bannack Skillen led the team with 190 points on toss-ups, followed by Carter Gebhards with 50, Malachi Skillen with 30, and Anneliese Clauson with 20. Sara Newbanks also played with the varsity team, contributing to the team’s 510 bonus points on the night.

In the home competition, RPHS sealed up their sixth consecutive 275 Conference Championship (excluding 2020 when the season went unfinished) by defeating Craig 470-70, West Nodaway 450-30, and Northeast Nodaway 300-200. Bannack Skillen scored 330 points, Malachi Skillen scored 70 points, Carter Gebhards contributed 30 points, Anneliese Clauson 20 points, and Sara Newbanks 10 points. The team, finishing the regular season with a 14-1 record, scored 760 points on bonus questions.

Northeast Nodaway also brought a JV team and gave more Rock Port players a chance to compete. The junior varsity faced Northeast Nodaway all three matches, going 3-0 with scores of 160-80, 180-0, and 220-20. Tarver Muntz and Logan Lomax scored 100 points on toss-ups, followed by Dereck Dush with 70 and Spencer Newbanks with 60.

Julie Burke, Regan Griffin, Donnie Parsons, Kerri Rodriguez, Tiffanie Gaines, Shauna Farmer, Christin Dush, Jackie Miller, Danyal Coon, Morgan Cofer, Lily Wilroy, and Andrea Dush worked at the home matches.

The Blue Jays are still practicing for the conference tournament March 29 at Nodaway-Holt and the district tournament April 15 at Tarkio.
