After 24 years of shooting the fireworks display for the community of Rock Port, Dan Athen is hanging it up. With this news, the Rock Port Chamber has been working to find someone new to shoot off the annual fireworks show and they have found someone to do just that. However, this year the display will not be on the 4th of July, but rather the 3rd of July. As of right now plans for the 4th of July are still being worked on but nothing is set in stone. The display this year will run $10,000 compared to $7,500 last year.
