The American Legion Posts from Holt and Atchison Counties joined together to honor those who have fallen. Each year the legionnaires travel to the communities and cemeteries of Atchison County honoring the fallen soldiers. The trek begins in Mound City then travels to Craig. Fairfax is their first stop in Atchison County. The Fairfax City Park, which is surrounded by the flags in honor of those who are no longer with us, is a beautiful start to the Atchison County tour. This is followed by Rock Port to St. John’s Lutheran Church near Westboro, then over to Center Grove Cemetery. The last stop is the Home Cemetery in Tarkio.
