A local teen suffered minor injuries in a crash June 2, 2023, on MO 46 in Atchison County, Missouri. The accident occurred nine miles east of Fairfax at 8:01 a.m. as a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by Kenneth E. Brion, 18, of Fairfax, Missouri, was travelling westbound on 46. The van crossed the center of the roadway and travelled off of the south side of the roadway, struck a ditch, became airborne, landed on the ground, and continued westbound. The front of the van then struck an embankment, a fence, and began overturning. It then struck a tree, a power pole, became airborne, and struck the ground. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels facing east in a field on the south side of 46.

Brion, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and was transported by a private vehicle to Community Hospital-Fairfax in Fairfax. The 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan was totaled and towed from the scene by Double M Towing. Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C. J. Blue investigated the wreck. He was assisted by Cpl. T. L. Shupe and the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office.
