The Brownville Concert Series will present critically acclaimed actor, singer, and storyteller Tim Connell alongside musical director James Followell. The audience will take a journey with him as he celebrates his Irish heritage and his ancestors who ventured to America, then on to celebrate the spirit and soul of America through the American Songbook, classic folk, Broadway, and other traditional tunes. The show will be in cabaret on Friday and Saturday, July 14 and 15, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m. Sponsors are Marten Mejstrik, 2MMs of Stella, Melva Sage, and Brownville Fine Arts Association in memory of Carie Allen.
Tim Connell is an accomplished triple threat performer whose work spans the stage, small screen (TV) and cabaret stages. He has performed on Broadway, Off-& Off-Off Broadway, national and international tours, and regional theatres across the USA.
As a critically acclaimed cabaret performer, Tim has appeared on the roster of artists at Mabel Mercer’s Annual NY Cabaret Convention (2022 and 2019) and Carnegie Hall debut with the Mabel Mercer Foundation’s “The Music of Jerome Kern.” He continues to play various NYC rooms including Pangea, Don’t Tell Mama, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and The Triad.
James Followell, musical director, pianist, and arranger, has performed as a pianist/musical director in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Prince Edward Theater and Vaudeville Theater (London), Savannah Music Festival, McCallum Theater (Palm Desert), and The Historic Asolo Theater in Sarasota. He was in the original Off-Broadway cast and first national tour of the hit musical revue, “Forever Plaid,” and the pianist/conductor for the international tour of “Little Shop Of Horrors” in Stockholm and Hamburg.
Mr. Followell’s cabaret credits include performing with Broadway and cabaret artists Lee Roy Reams, Karen Mason, Karen Akers, Kristen Chenowith, Hildegarde, and most recently with Tim Connell. James performed on PBS with Jennifer Sheehan in the cabaret series, “66th & Broadway,” for the show’s debut episode in 2015. He is happy to return to the Brownville Concert Series with Tim Connell, after performing here with Jeff Harnar and Shauna Hicks, and KT Sullivan in past years.
