Amy Elam, left, who represents the estate of Joanne Curnutt, presents Wendy Combs, right, manager/director of the New Nodaway Humane Society in Maryville, Missouri, with a check for $353,000. In total, Joanne’s estate has given $657,415.63. Wendy said that the money will be used to help remodel their facility, which is now over 20 years old. First on their list of things to do will be a new heating and cooling system, estimated at over $200,000. A conference and education room, named in honor of Joanne, is also planned.
