Homecoming victory for the EA Wolves
The Stewartsville/Osborn WildCards came to Fairfax on Friday night to take on the Wolves for Homecoming 2023.
It was a slow start for East Atchison as it wasn’t until 2 minutes and 34 seconds left in the first quarter that Sammie Litherbury would find the end zone. Quarterback Blake Simmons would find tight end Collin Hedlund for the two point conversion. This scoring drive would open the gates as Gabe Harms would recover a fumble in the endzone to score the second touchdown with a minute to go.
As the Wolves started the second quarter, Sammy Litherbury scored his second touchdown with 11:43 left in the first half. On their next possession, Linkin Murry would take the handoff and scramble 30 yards to give the Wolves a score of 26 to 0. Simmons would find Hedlund once again for the two point conversion. The EA defense would cause another fumble and Collin Hedlund would scoop it up to extend the Wolves’ lead, with Simmons’ two point conversion making the score 36-0 over the WildCards. With six minutes remaining in the first half, Linkin Murry would go 40 yards to make it 42-0 and Litherbury’s two point dive was good, making it 44-0. The Wolves would go to the air as quarterback Blake Simmons hit Collin Hedlund for a 40 plus yard touchdown and then Trenton Kingery for the two point conversion, making it 52-0. As time expired in the first half, the Wildcards elected to end the ball game.
EA will be traveling this Friday, October 6, as they head to DeKalb to take on the Tigers.
