As we head into autumn and a season of harvest, we think of the many blessings that God has bestowed on us. We ask God to bless our harvest season and keep our farmers safe and we ask the Lord for abundance. We can already be thankful for the harvest of blessings that the Lord has given us. We are thankful for salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are thankful that we are redeemed and forgiven, and that we are healed and delivered. We are thankful for God’s favor for us, His provision and His protection. We are thankful for the Holy Spirit’s leading and guidance. We are thankful for the peace and joy that comes from our relationship with Christ Jesus.

In this time and in this season, it is often easy to live a life where we are too busy to be thankful, or we are too depressed to give God praise. We look at everything we don’t have instead of thanking God for everything we do have.

King David reminds of us to live a life of thanksgiving and praise to the Lord in every season, in the harvest of abundance and the Harvest of little. God is worthy to be praised through it all.

Psalm 145:1-16 – “I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise you and extol Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty – and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They tell of the awesome power of Your awesome works and I will proclaim Your great deeds. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made. All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you. They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does. The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.”

I pray in this season, no matter what we are facing, we are keeping our eyes on Jesus and praising His Glorious Name.
