The East Atchison Wolves traveled to DeKalb, Missouri, to face the Tigers Friday, October 6, 2023. With the weather perfect for football, the Wolves looked to upset the Tiger Homecoming, and upset they did.

The first quarter saw three different EA players finding the end zone. Owen DeRosier caught a pass from Blake Simmons and the 2-point conversion was successful. Linkin Murry scored on a two yard run and the two-point conversion was successful, and Sammie Litherbury scored on a three yard dive, but the two-point failed. The score at the end of the first quarter was EA 22, DeKalb 0.

In the second quarter, Simmons connected with Collin Hedlund on an 18 yard pass and run for the first score of the quarter. The two-point conversion failed. Then on the next EA drive, Simmons hit pay dirt on a nine yard run. The two-point conversion was successful, bringing the score to EA 36, DeKalb 0.

The third quarter was the slowest in points production. DeRosier got free on a 19 yard run. With a successful two-point conversion, EA’s lead increased to 42-0.

Cameron Brooks was the first to find the end zone in the fourth quarter for the Wolves on a 21 yard pass from Brody Wennihan. The two-point conversion was successful. Gavyn Irvine scored on a 23 yard run, but the two-point conversion failed. Next, Wennihan found the end zone after a 20 yard run with a successful two-point conversion. The last score for EA came by a pick-six by DeRosier, followed by a successful two-point conversion. The Tigers did score on a 34 yard pass, but the two-point conversion failed. This made the final score EA 72, DeKalb 6.

Senior Night is this Friday, October 13, 2023. The Wolves will face the Rock Port Blue Jays in Tarkio.
