Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry

The holidays are quickly approaching and the dates the food pantry will be open will change for the months of November and December.

In November, the food pantry will be open Tuesday, November 14, and Thursdays, November 9 and 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Tarkio First Christian Church will be responsible for opening the pantry in November.

The opening dates will also be earlier in December. The pantry will be open Tuesdays, December 5 and 12, and Thursdays, December 7 and 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. On Tuesday, December 5, the pantry will also be open from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The food pantry board will be responsible for opening the pantry in December.

The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax, Missouri, Food Pantry is currently low on the following items: grape juice (64 oz.), brownie mix, sugar (5 lbs.), vegetables (15 oz. – canned potatoes, cut green beans, French style green beans, mixed vegetables, whole kernel corn, cream style corn, peas, carrots, kraut), boxed potatoes (au gratin, scalloped), frozen pizza, Blue Bonnet margarine (1 lb. sticks), and laundry detergent.

Monetary donations are also appreciated as the money allows the shelves to be stocked with the items that are low. Donations intended for the local food pantry need to be given directly to the pantry. For after hours donations, call 816-261-2672.

Clients are reminded of the policy for inclement weather. If area schools are closed due to inclement weather, the food pantry will also be closed. If schools have a 10:00 a.m. late start due to inclement weather, the food pantry will also open at 10:00 a.m. and remain open until 12:00 noon.

The food pantry is located at 315 Main Street in Tarkio.

Rock Port Food Pantry

The Rock Port Food Pantry is low on the following items: cooking oil, brownie mix, icing, stuffing, and dish soap. Items can be taken to the Rock Port United Methodist Church, 211 W. Opp. The food pantry is located in the fellowship hall.

The food pantry will be open Friday, November 10, 5:00-6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, November 21, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; Friday, November 24, 5:00-6:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, December 5, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
