East Atchison Wolves brought home the second place District 6 trophy on Friday night. The East Atchison Wolves  played the South Holt Knights on Friday, November 10, 2023, for the District 6 championship in Oregon, Missouri.

The first quarter was a battle. Defensive back Owen DeRosier came up big with an interception to give the Wolves their first opportunity with the ball. The Wolves were unable to find the end zone. South Holt only scored once to give the Knights a 7-0 lead. The Wolves would find their only success in finding the end zone in the second quarter when quarterback Blake Simmons would hit Collin Hedlund on a 30 yard pass and run to bring the score to 7-6.

East Atchison’s defense put up a good fight all night long giving their offense several opportunities with good stands, but the Knights were able to find the end zone too many times with no answer by the Wolves. The final score was Knights 50, Wolves 6.

It was a good season for East Atchison finishing second in the district.
