Helping Santa Claus at Fairfax Light Night were Junior Miss Fairfax Avery Fast, Little Miss Fairfax Scout Smith, and Miss Fairfax Kendal Straub.

Wynn Dixie was the first place winner of the business division of the Fairfax Christmas Lighting Contest.
Second place in the business division went to the Fairfax Branch of the Atchison County Library.
Rays’ Dairy Diner was the third place winner in the business division.
First place in the Fairfax city park displays went to Barb and Kent Fisher’s Merry Christmas sign and trees.
Bob and Marilyn Alldredge’s display in memory of their son, Robbie, received second place in the park’s lighting contest.
The Osburn family’s display at the park in memory of their mother, Dana, placed third.
Fairfax celebrated the beginning of the holiday season with the annual Light Night festivities Saturday, November 25.
Miss Fairfax 2023 Kendal Straub had the honor of turning the Christmas lights on at the Fairfax City Park. Due to the weather, the festivities were moved to the Fairfax school. Little Miss Fairfax Scout Smith also added to the festivities by leading the group in a song. Prizes and goodies were handed out to the youth in attendance.
Winners of the park’s lighting contest were announced. Display winners were: first place, Barb and Kent Fisher; second place, Bob and Marilyn Alldredge’s tree in memory of their son, Robbie; and third place, the Osburn family in memory of Dana.
Business winners were: first place, Wynn Dixie; second place, the Fairfax Branch of the Atchison County Library; and third place, Rays’ Dairy Diner.
Prizes were sponsored by the Seymour family, Dush family, Southard family, Fisher family, Sefrit family, Martin family, Kiwanis Club, Optimist Club, Fairfax Agency, Inc., Xi Lambda Beta, and Midwest Data Center. Cookies were provided by Maria Reed and Amelia Larson, cocoa was provided by the Fairfax Girl Scouts, and Santa bags were provided by Northwest Missouri Homeschool Co-op. Light Night team members were Sam O’Riley, Ginny Smith, Mandy Smith, Jill Kingery, Deb Wyatt, and Beth Graves.
