Sexual assault and any form of domestic violence, whether it is emotional, physical or financial, does not know a day or time or whether it is during the daylight or in the middle of the night.

C.A.R.E. of Atchison County is available 24/7 by phone at 660-744-7233 and your phone call is anonymous. C.A.R.E. maintains the highest level of confidentiality in all their services for the purposes of safety and a secure place that you feel welcome.

C.A.R.E. can provide the following services to its clients: information and referral, emotional assistance, victim compensation info, court advocacy and informtion, personal advocacy, community education, three-night emergency shelter, and licensed domestic violence/sexual assault counseling.

In addition to the above, C.A.R.E. currently has a support group for the 55 and over age range that meets Wednesday afternoons. Should you be interested in joining that group, please feel free to contact them and let them know of your interest.

C.A.R.E. would like to know if there is interest in beginning a support group in the age range of 25 to 55 years as well. Again, if you would be interested in a group setting with the focus on personal well-being, relationships, financial education, and any other topics that would be of concern, please contact them at the above number.

C.A.R.E. serves many needs within Atchison County at the present time. If you find yourself in a situation of any level of abuse and need someone to turn to, their door is always open, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and they are but a phone call away.

The abuse is NOT your fault. In whatever capacity you might need C.A.R.E., they are a place to start with. Support, information, counseling by LPC’s, person advocacy, emergency contacts, whatever you need, their mission is to help you find yourself again, make your own decisions and help you on your healing journey.

The shelter services do provide many necessities to the survivors of which your donations are always appreciated to the fullest. Also, C.A.R.E. can now offer the 70% shelter tax credit on any donation of $100.00 or more with a minimum of paperwork that can be a direct credit used on your Missouri state tax return.
