Tarkio musicians traveled to Kansas City, Missouri, to participate in the 50th annual Tuba Christmas event at Crown Center Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Started in 1974 in New York City, Tuba Christmas is a holiday concert where tuba and euphonium players from the community gather to play Christmas music. The first Kansas City Tuba Christmas was held in 1979 and has been held yearly since, including a virtual play-along in 2020.
