Sharon Wynn of Tarkio retired last week from the Tarkio Nutrition Center. She began as a volunteer there in 2014.

Gary Frohn was one of the many who stopped by the Tarkio Nutrition Center on Friday, December 22, to wish Sharon Wynn a fond farewell in her retirement.
Sharon Wynn of Tarkio hung up her apron at the Tarkio Nutrition Center for the last time Friday, December 22, 2023. Sharon retired after working there since 2014.
Sharon started at the center as a volunteer. Then in 2016, she became a full-time employee. If you’ve been dining on the delicious food there, you can thank her for the scrumptious meals and the different menu ideas. She always strived to change things up to keep people coming back for more. And they did, not just for the food, but also for the fellowship they find at the center and the friendly smiles provided by Sharon and the other staff members.
Sharon said she will miss the people the most. Having lived in Tarkio and Atchison County for so many years, she’s grown close to the people in the community. They weren’t just customers or coworkers, they’ve been like family. She said it’s been a great place to work.
Sharon’s plans for retirement include doing some traveling and cleaning, as well as babysitting her great-granddaughter.
