The Rock Port R-II Board of Education held a regular meeting Tuesday, February 13, 2024. President Regan Griffin called the meeting to order at 12:13 p.m. in the board room. Other board members present were Afton Schomburg, Joanna Burke, Troy Cook, Jared Meyerkorth, Kayla Sierks, and Reven Herron (via Zoom). Also present were Dr. Bollinger, Superintendent; Mr. Parsons, High School Principal; Dr. Waigand, Elementary Principal; and Jennifer Welch, Board Secretary. Guests present were Jennifer Geib, Sheena Roup, Abby Palmer, and Tawni Ellis.

The agenda was adopted and the minutes of the regular meeting of January 11, 2024, were approved.

Dr. Bollinger reviewed the financial information. The transfer of funds, January final check register, and the February check register to date were approved.

During communications, Dr. Bollinger read a thank you from the Lucas family and Richard Fentiman.

Members of the park board discussed the mowing responsibilities of the practice field and the baseball field.

Dr. Waigand and Mr. Parsons went over the elementary and high school principals’ report.

Dr. Bollinger went over his monthly program evaluation report. This month’s report was over the Talented and Gifted program and the music program. Abby Palmer presented to the board about the 5-12 music program.

The board went on a tour of the new building.

New Business

Dr. Bollinger discussed salary considerations with the board for the next three years.

Board members voted to approve the new football uniforms in the amount of $12,136.95.

Executive Session

At 1:26 p.m., board members voted to move to executive session in accordance with RSMo.610.021 Sub-section (3, 13) Personnel Matters and Sub-section (3, 2) Lease, Purchase or Sale of Real Estate.

The meeting returned to return to open session at 2:15 p.m.

Board members voted to accept the retirement of Mrs. Miller.

The board also accepted the resignation of Melissa Comstock as the assistant junior high track coach.

The board took action to extend employment agreements for the 2024-2025 school year to LoryAnne Daugherty for the Spanish/ELA position, Paige Ralph for the 6-8 Math/Science position, Kelsie Gaines for the 6-8 ELA/Other position, and Brittany Paris for the 6-12 Special Education/Life Skills position.

Future business was discussed.
