Proof that our local band members are extremely talented can be found in the performance of Tarkio junior high band member Treyton Brown. In one song alone during the festival, Treyton played five different percussion instruments and had no trouble getting the job done. Several band members play multiple instruments, which helps fill the sound of the musical scores they play.

The Tarkio Sixth Grade Band also took part in the Missouri Small Schools Concert Band Festival on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Tarkio High School, earning a II “Outstanding” rating on the performance of “Bells!” and “Quicksilver March.” The sixth graders joined 11 other bands in the competition.
