Missouri Freedom Quilters presented a Quilt of Valor to Rev. David Gilmore Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Rock Port United Methodist Church. David was a member of the United States Navy from 1980 to 2000. His service included: RTC/NC Orlando, Florida, NTTC Corry Station Pensacola, Florida, USS Barry (DD-933) Newport, Rhode Island, USS Spruance Mayport, Florida, NCTAM LANT DET New Orleans, Louisiana, USS Connole FF-1056 Newport, USS John Hancock DD-981 Mayport, and Commander of Carrier Group Six Mayport.

The Missouri Freedom Quilters have made over 134 Quilts of Valor for veterans in Atchison County. The group has been able to do this through the generous donations of businesses and individuals in and around our community.
