Children’s Librarian Amanda Vette read “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Frog” at April’s Third Thursday.

The Atchison County Library hosted April’s Third Thursday on April 18 at the Tarkio Library branch. The overall theme was “Celebrating Spring.”

Fifteen children joined Children’s Librarian Amanda Vette for storytime. They read “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Frog.” Each child was given a bag with the “Old Lady” on it and all of the items she eats in the book so they were able to feed her as Amanda read the story. It was a great interactive activity that the kids really enjoyed.

For craft time, the children made snails out of beads and pipe cleaners. They also made flower baskets and were in for a surprise when they went into the library and discovered that flowers had been hidden among all the books so they had a fun time filling the baskets they had just made in craft time.

There is one more Third Thursday on May 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

Also, put Summer Reading on your calendar, which will be held in Tarkio June 24-28.
