The Fairfax Improvement Foundation (FIF) was founded in 2015.  The organization’s mission is to focus on specific projects to help improve the town of Fairfax.  FIF exists to serve the Fairfax community in various ways by networking with individuals and organizations as well as the city of Fairfax.

Past projects of the FIF include, but are not limited to the following: Paralympian John Gilbert recognition sign, city park playground equipment, football field bleachers, Main Street banners, and the Norton Main Street property facelift.

Completed or ongoing projects from 2023 include the demolition of property north of the school to expand parking, baseball field updates, renovation of the park scout cabin, and new planters for Main Street.

Recently, FIF member Jerry Hurt, along with community members Gene and Sue Carder, donated their time and equipment to clean up a tree that had fallen on their neighbor’s property. What a great example of community service that should be encouraged throughout all our towns!
