East Atchison will host a baseball/track/boys’ golf senior parents’ night ceremony Wednesday, May 1, at the city ball field in Tarkio. The event will take place before the baseball games against Maysville, which begin at 5:00 p.m. with varsity, followed by junior varsity.

Rock Port FFA Chapter is hosting a blood drive in the south gym at Rock Port High School from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2.

The East Atchison and Rock Port boys’ golf teams will be competing in the Class 1, District 4 Tournament in Cameron, Missouri, Thursday, May 2. The East Atchison and Rock Port high school track teams will be competing in the Class 1, District 8 meet in King City, Missouri, Saturday, May 4.

The Rock Port baseball/track/boys’ golf senior parents’ night ceremony will be held at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the city ball field before the baseball games begin at 5:00 p.m.

Although most people in Atchison County lucked out from having any damage or major damage done to their homes during the storms that took place this past weekend, many in the tri-state area are not so lucky. It’s a good reminder to have a plan in place for what you need to do during inclement weather. Get a severe weather pack together (flashlights, batteries, blankets, extra set of clothes and supplies), prepare a safe location for you to hide out in, and make sure your pets are in a sturdy kennel in your safe location with you.
